Madar (Nouakchott) - The Banque Mauritanienne pour le Commerce International (BMCI) has cancelled the result of the grand prize draw of its "Lekhrif" campaign, held in Nouakchott on October 9, after discovering that the list of eligible participants had been manipulated.
In a statement, the bank said its checks showed that the original database had been replaced before the draw with a file containing a single repeated name, adding that the facts had been recorded in an official report.
BMCI said it would hold a new draw using the original database, in the presence of a representative of the advertising regulator, control teams and bank officials. It has launched legal proceedings against those involved and reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and integrity.
