Madar (Tripoli) - The Libyan Ground Handling Services Company on Monday, October 19, 2026, announced the signing of an agreement to provide ground handling services for Air Algerie aircraft, Libya Herald reported.
The company said the deal is part of its strategy to strengthen international cooperation and develop Libya's civil aviation sector, and a step towards expanding cooperation with regional and international airlines. The outlet had earlier reported preparations by Air Algerie to resume direct flights to Tripoli.
In a separate step, the Tripoli-based government's Ministry of Water Resources said it was strengthening technical cooperation with Algeria on seawater desalination, drawing on Algerian expertise in maintaining and developing operating and control systems, according to the same outlet.
The ministry said an Algerian expert had arrived at the Zawiya seawater desalination plant to carry out urgent maintenance, assess the technical condition of its control and operating systems and identify upgrade requirements, as part of cooperation that followed a visit to Algeria by Libya's water resources minister in July.
