Madar (Benghazi) - Libya's Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO) on Monday, October 19, 2026, announced the completion of the final stages of a project to replace about 100 kilometres of the 34-inch main pipeline linking the Sarir oil field to the Hariga terminal in Tobruk, Libya Herald reported.

The company said the project, known as Q-87, follows National Oil Corporation (NOC) directives to raise production and develop infrastructure, and caps 30 months of work including welding, excavation, hydrostatic testing and backfilling of the new line.

Technical teams carried out a "hot tapping" operation in August to connect the new line without interrupting pumping. That process has now been completed and crude from Sarir has officially started flowing through the replaced section, with the old segment isolated, the outlet said.

AGOCO said all stages met international safety and quality standards, supporting the NOC's strategy to sustain and increase production.
