Minister of Islamic Affairs and Traditional Education Fadel Ould Sidaty Ould Ahmed Louli said the departure of Hajj pilgrims had been completed in good conditions, on direct flights from Nouakchott's Oumtounsy International Airport to Medina. He praised the organisation and coordination throughout the operation.

Speaking to the press after seeing off the final group, the minister congratulated the pilgrims on the opportunity to perform the fifth pillar of Islam. He thanked all the bodies and partners involved in this year's departures, particularly the airlines, the civilian and military authorities at Nouakchott International Airport, and the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Traditional Education's teams.

The minister added that the departures had taken place according to the established plan.
