President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani said Mauritanian young people were a force in the present and the builders of the future, praising their determination, ambition and creativity in a message marking International Youth Day.
In a post on X, Ghazouani said: "Young people of Mauritania, my sons and daughters, on your international day I salute your determination, ambition and creativity. You are the strength of the present and the builders of the future."
He renewed his commitment to supporting young people through training, employment opportunities and assistance for youth-led initiatives across the country. He said the state's commitment was based on "training that opens doors, employment that preserves dignity, and support for your initiatives wherever you are, in cities as well as rural areas".
Ghazouani urged young people to keep working to build the country and to strengthen their participation in all fields with confidence and responsibility, expressing his pride in them.
