European traders said Algeria's grain agency had issued an international tender to buy an indicative 50,000 tonnes of soft milling wheat from optional origins.
Reuters reported that the deadline for submitting offers was Tuesday, 15 September, with shipments scheduled during two periods in November and different shipment timings for supplies from more distant origins.
The traders said Algeria often contracts for quantities exceeding the indicative volume announced in tenders of this kind.
