Algeria’s telecommunications ministry announced on 11 October that fibre-to-the-home subscriptions had reached four million early in the month. It said 1.4 million additional households were connected during the first nine months of 2026.

The ministry aims to exceed 4.4 million subscriptions before year-end, then connect another 300,000 households in the first quarter of 2027, alongside the shift from copper networks to fibre.
