Madar (International) - Senegalese striker Nicolas Jackson scored twice as Aston Villa beat Premier League leaders Manchester City 2-1 on Saturday, 24 October 2026, in the eighth round of the English top flight, the Senegalese news agency APS reported.
Jackson opened the scoring in the 6th minute from a pass by Scotland's McGinn. Norway's Erling Haaland equalised for City in the 52nd minute, set up by Senegal's Iliman Ndiaye, who started for City.
Eight minutes later, in the 60th minute, Jackson restored Villa's lead from a pass by compatriot Ibrahim Mbaye, who had come on a minute earlier. Senegalese daily Le Soleil said the goal followed a mistake by City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
It is Jackson's second brace since joining Aston Villa, taking him to four Premier League goals and seven in all competitions. Mbaye now has four assists in all competitions, two of them for Jackson, according to APS.
The result handed Manchester City their first league defeat of the season. Their previous loss came on 14 October against Paris Saint-Germain (2-4) in the Champions League.
